RECEIVER - ICA, or interface unit that accepts the test fixture
ITA - Interchangable Test Adapter
MODULE - connector that can be placed in a receiver or an ITA unit
CARRIER - usually a "frame" of base unit that houses a connector or module to allow for a proper fit into an area
CONTACT - a small electrical "pin" that plugs into a module or is attached to wire in a plugwire/patchcord/jumper-type application that carries a signal from the wire into the unit it is attached too.
ICA - Interface Connector Assembly, or otherwise; Receiver
MATING SIDE - connecting side
JUMPER - a length of wire that has two terminations ( or contacts), one on either end. Sometimes called a patchcord
UUT - Unit Under Test, or otherwise whatever item is connecting to the ITA that will be tested by the circuits in that ITA
PATCHPANEL - a panel that may house few to many patchcords or plugwires, sometimes looks like a checkerboard
PATCHCORD - sometimes called a jumper, but is usually only terminated with a contact on one end.
PLUGWIRE - a length of wire with a contact terminated to one end and plugs into either a plugboard or a module
PLUGBOARD - sometimes called a patch panel.
